The Youth Committee's goal is to encourage the active participation in Young Judaea of 3rd through 12th graders and to encourage youth leadership and participation in all aspects of the OZ community. They help hire and recruit Youth Group leaders, work with Temple Sinai and the larger Jewish community to create youth group activities and provide social, spiritual and educational programs for youth. Our young youth meet once a month under the direction of adult advisors. A free year of Young Judaea membership is a gift to each Bar/Bat Mitzvah student from the Youth Committee. New members are welcome to our committee. We also welcome applicants from the community to serve as youth advisors for our 3-5th grade Ofarim group or our 6+7th grade Tsofim group.

In general, our programs have grown each year, greater in quantity and quality. For each event, a mailing is send to the entire Jewish student community. We accept non-affiliated and affiliated students. There is a wonderful sense of community and shared values that is built and strengthened though each program. Each event is full of educational elements, from discussing the core values of tikkun olam, and putting Jewish values in action through rallies, letter writing, and walking the walk activism to discussing the Holocaust, Jewish values, and the ethics of leadership.

Our youth are the future of our synagogue and our religion. We appreciate community support in encouraging youth to participate in Young Judaea events and attend Young Judaea or other Jewish summer camps and Israel programs.
