Our mandate is to manage the computer hardware, organize the software applications, provide wireless access throughout the synagogue and oversee OZ’s website. The Committee also has the responsibility of integrating all of OZ’s print and marketing materials, including the Voice, to achieve a consistent identity for the synagogue.

In November we completed our first project by upgrading the computer hardware as well as all software applications. We also installed a wireless computer system which is accessible throughout the synagogue. You can now spend time in the library, lounge anywhere within the building while surfing the web wirelessly. If you would like to “surf” the web while at the synagogue, bring your laptop and sign on to Ohavi Zedek. Visit the office to get the password. Another phase of our hardware improvement was the purchase of a projector along with a laptop and portable speaker system to present movies and assist in presentations when a projector and screen is required. It is available for any of our members to use.

The next major undertaking will be to overhaul OZ’s website. We have requested and received input from a number of congregants as well as all of OZ’s Committees regarding their wants and desires. We anticipate the first two phases to be completed Spring of 2008.
